Beetley River Meadows
Beetley Meadows is a large area of parish land situated behind the housing estate opposite the Rural Life Museum. The river Whitewater, a tributary of the Wensum, divides Beetley Meadows from Hoe Rough. There are several viewing bays along the river and the banks are regularly mown and have seats. Access to the meadows is from Fakenham Road, River View, Birch Avenue and Beech Road. The play area has several recreational facilities and a hard area for children’s’ ball games. Many wild flowers complement Beetley Meadows including orchids and foxgloves. Roe deer and rabbits are the main wild animals of Beetley Meadows. Some paths may be muddy in winter.

Beetley Common
Beetley Common is an area of 8.71 hectares and is accessed off the Holt Road via Common Lane at Gravel Pit House or Peacock Lane.
The common is dissected by tracks one of which follows the river which is the boundary whilst the main track through the common takes you to the lakes which are restored quarries. Owls, bats, deer and adders are some of the animals that live on the common. The lakes have encouraged many wild fowl such as mallard ducks, swans and geese.

East Bilney Town Lands
East Bilney Town Lands is adjacent to Bilney Common and is accessed off the main Dereham to Fakenham Road just to the north of East Bilney. The Town lands have recently been planted with trees by the Parish Council and there is a boardwalk that links the area to Bilney Common giving access to footpaths within the Parish and onto Brisley.

Primary School
St Mary’s is a happy school where everyone is valued. Our pupils and the adults who work in school, enjoy being part of a strong team that is focussed on working together, supporting and encouraging each other, learning through every opportunity and responding to the joys and challenges of life. We believe that the best learning happens in partnership: our pupils, the staff, governors, parents and the wider community. By working together we can celebrate the diversity of our world and our community and learn how to treat each other with awareness and respect.
Together we created our school values, which are extremely important to us: Care, Aware, Respect and share, Be honest and polite.
We are delighted with what our pupils achieve and are proud of all the different learning opportunities our children take part in. We are always happy to show visitors around our school and we welcome your call or email.
